2017
BRUCE TWP PARK - Dog Park
After investigation, it was decided by the commission that Bruce Twp Park was not the best location for
for a dog park. (due to the actual space available & the neighboring private school/church.
All other current parks in the area were looked at and it was decoded that the dog park would be designed
and placed at the Aikman Park location. This project was stopped due to possible sale of property.
ORCHARD HILLS PARK - Lighting
Commission decided that the need for electric was not a necessity. Parks & Rec added a Security Solar Flood
Light to parking lot area.
BRUCE TWP SOIL CONSERVATION SITE (Phase 1 Park Development)
Property sold
VILLAGE OF ROMEO/WASHINGTON - Vacant Sission Property
It was determined that the Vacant Sisson Property in Washington/Village would remain green space
CRYSTAL DIAMONDS
Tree/brush clearing and replacement tree plantings in tree line completed.
ROMEO COMMUNITY CENTER
A decision was made to just add screens to basketball/ice rink fence and plant a natural row of arborvitaes
to reduce any sound and visual issues to the neighboring houses.

2018
BRUCE TWP SOIL CONSERVATION SITE (Phase 2 Park Development)
Property sold
GILCHER-CRISSMAN PARK
The plan includes paving parking lot, addition of east side electric/irrigation and lighting to fields at Gilcher.
Major developments were put on hold due to Tri-Community Center concept/plan being developed.
29 Mile Road Trail Parking - Future Home of AIKMAN PARK
Aikman property projects were all put on hold due to possible sale of land.
WASHINGTON TWP COMMUNITY CENTER
The conceptual meetings for the creation of a tri-community Community Center to be built on the purchased
property in Washington Township were ended due to Washington's Total Soccer Project.
Ligon Property
Major developments were put on hold to continue to save for tri-community Community Center project.

2019
Orchard Hills Park
Major developments were put on hold to continue to save for tri-community Community Center project.
Village of Romeo Park
Security, sound & lighting improvements were added to the Village's plan to redesign park that should be
completed this year with additional funding they acquired from a grant.
Gilcher-Crissman Park
Major developments were put on hold to continue to save for tri-community Community Center project.
Washington Park & Senior Center - Shuffle board
Commission decided that the rise in interest in pickle ball become a need. Tennis courts were redesigned
and pickle ball courts added. Shuffle board courts were put on hold.
29 Mile Road Trail Park
Aikman property projects were all put on hold.

2020
Community Center
Dugout enclosures have been added to both fields used by the schools.
Additional toddler lot play area not completed to date.
Crystal Diamonds
The addition of a play structure, dugout covers, restroom facilities and extension of irrigation to ball fields
were not completed to date.
29 Mile Aikman Park
The development of the South end of property closest to the Macomb Orchard trail is budgeted for 2021-22.
Orchard Hills Park
Culvert added to ditch in front of park to provide access from Van Dyke by Bruce Township. Parks & Rec
enlarged parking lot for additional parking.

2021
Crystal Diamonds & other parks
The plan connecting parks, facilities, paths to the Macomb Orchard Trail and sidewalks within our
 tri-community is beginning.
Village Park
Redesign of Village Park which should decrease vandalism is to be completed in 2021
Community Center
Updates will be started. ADA connection to pavilion. Electric brought to fields completed. Water source
brought to field, irrigation on hold. Storage barns built. Restroom refresh planned however adding a shower
was not deemed a good idea per plumber.
